About the Role:

Reporting to the SVP, Business Operations, this position is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of building operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective facility management. This includes oversight of maintenance, security, vendor management, tenant services, and regulatory compliance. The role serves as a key liaison between property management, tenants, and service providers to maintain optimal building performance and occupant satisfaction.

Your Focus in this Role:

  • Oversee daily operations of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, security, and custodial services.
  • Manage and supervise building operations staff and third-party contractors to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment life and reduce downtime.
  • Monitor building systems performance and coordinate repairs or upgrades as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and building codes and regulations.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness plans and respond promptly to facility emergencies or tenant concerns.
  • Manage vendor contracts and service level agreements, including negotiation and performance evaluation.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and safety training.
  • Collaborate with property management and leasing teams to support tenant relations, space management, and move-in/move-out processes.
  • Prepare and manage operating budgets, capital improvement projects, and cost control initiatives.
  • Lead sustainability efforts, including energy management and waste reduction initiatives.

Education, Experience and Skills**:**

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in building operations or facilities management, preferably in commercial or multi-tenant environments.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance best practices.
  • Experience managing vendors and contract services.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with facilities management software (e.g., CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including emergency call-outs as needed.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines while maintaining excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with a dynamic group of individuals in many different departments and prioritize tasks
