Toronto Community Housing’s Youth/Second Career Internship Program was created in providing an opportunity in learning and gaining new skills and experiences for adults seeking entry into a new career avenue. Internships and training opportunities provided by Toronto Community Housing will enable Interns to develop skills and interests through meaningful opportunities that may lead to careers providing financial stability and ongoing professional development.

- Legal Services - 931 Yonge Street
- Tenancy Management - 495 Wilson Avenue
- Community Safety & Support - 2739 Victoria Park Avenue
- Strategic Communications - 931 Yonge Street
- Information Technology Services - 729 Petrolia Road
These positions provide the opportunity to work from home as part of a hybrid work arrangement. This arrangement will allow you to work some days at a TCHC work location and the rest of the time from home. The amount of time required to work at a TCHC work location is flexible, while considering operational and service delivery requirements. What You’ll Do
- Liaise with other divisions within the organization and potentially external partners helping to coordinate data management, administration, outreach/community materials, events, and local initiatives
- Support the planning and coordination of events, implementation and promotion of programs or initiatives, trainings or meetings
- Develop and distribute promotional materials
- Liaise with relevant business units, community partners, agencies, stakeholders or clients of assigned business unit
- Support teams to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs or projects
- Collect and complete administrative forms, reports, evaluation tools and statistical information, as necessary
- Perform administrative duties including data entry, creating correspondence, taking notes, etc. as required
- Conduct outreach activities to establish contact with tenants or stakeholders for relevant business unit activities
- Complete progress reports bi-weekly and a final report at the end of the work term
- Other related duties as assigned
What You’ll Need
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent) or College, University degree (within the last year)
- Demonstrated knowledge, experience and/or academic background in working with TCH tenants
- Experience with program planning, implementation, evaluation and /or project management
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Be proactive and ready to lead initiatives where requested
- Show a demonstrated commitment or interest in social housing, or effecting positive change in TCHC’s communities across the city
- Strong written, verbal communication and organizational skills
- Independent research skills
- Developed understanding of local and provincial housing policies considered an asset
- Strong organizational and strategic thinking skills
- Capable of taking responsibility and showing initiative in a fast-paced environment
- Strong presentation skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
