We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Agricultural Technician Mixed Farm Operations**,**to support daily operations across all Lakeland College Student Managed Farm units (beef, equine, bison, dairy & crops). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a variety of tasks, has a strong work ethic, and is passionate about agriculture.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily livestock care, including feeding, health monitoring, and maintaining clean, organized facilities.
- Support field operations such as seeding, spraying, harvesting (grain and silage), baling, and rock-picking.
- Operate, maintain, and perform basic repairs on farm equipment and machinery.
- Engage with students during hands-on learning activities, demonstrating safe and effective farm practices.
- Collaborate with staff during peak seasons to move equipment, handle seed and fertilizer, and support seasonal priorities.
- Assist with fencing, infrastructure maintenance, and general farm duties as required.
- Conduct farm tours and help facilitate student projects and experiential learning opportunities.
Job Requirements
- Post-secondary two-year diploma in agriculture related education.
- Experience working with beef cattle and calving.
- Experience operating farm equipment.
- Manual labour is required.
- On call, shift work, weekend and/or early or late hours may be required.
- Valid drivers' license.
Additional Information
This is a Full-time Permanent AUPE appointment at the Vermilion campus commencing as soon as possible. The current salary range is $50,198 - $63,259 per annum and includes a generous benefit package and pension plan.
