About the role

Your Opportunity:

This is an opportunity for you to become part of a dynamic South Zone nutrition team with Alberta Health Services as a Dietitian I, working with clients in the communities of Raymond and Cardston. New grads or soon-to-be grads are welcome to apply! As a Dietitian I reporting to the Manager, Nutrition Services, South Zone you would be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of nutrition care plans for clients in acute care, continuing care, supportive living, and outpatients in the communities of Cardston and Raymond. The majority of patients will be adults; however pediatric clients may be seen in outpatients. You may also facilitate virtual and face to face group nutrition sessions, using nutritional counselling for behaviour change as appropriate to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence-based nutrition information. This position offers a variety of experiences in a rural setting and the successful candidate will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in Cardston Health Center and Raymond Health Center as well as with Nutrition Services dietitians in the South Zone. There is also opportunity to pick up additional casual shifts within the South Zone. Description:

As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition.

Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada.

Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum one (1) year experience in acute care. Experience with nutrition counselling for behaviour change. Experience with enteral nutrition. Demonstrated experience in group facilitation. Knowledge and experience with virtual health applications for client care (Zoom, MS Teams, telehealth and teleconference).
