Position Description
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Grade 12 Diploma
- Minimum 5 years related experience with knowledge of medical/surgical supplies, inventory systems, hospital geography and proven customer service orientation
- Excellent time management skills required
- Must be able to read, speak and write English fluently with excellent communication skills
- Must have a basic to intermediate level of mathematical skill relevant to the position
- Must be completely capable of meeting the physical requirements of the job in a multi-temperature environment
- Practical experience in materials management operations is essential
- Good organizational, interpersonal, communications and service oriented skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills partnered with attention to detail with the ability to work effectively with little supervision
- Must possess a competency/knowledge of order/entry and materials management systems
- Must be willing to upgrade skills as departmental needs dictate
- An excellent work performance and attendance is required
- Operation of Symbol Hand-held Trakker and Materials Management System
- Basic key boarding and data entry skills
- Good attendance and work record is essential
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Performs the following duties in accordance with Materials Management policies, procedures and operations:
- Responsible for maintaining adequate stock on all Units and Departments
- Surveys inventory items for all areas of the facility and distributes the supplies appropriately
- Acts as a liaison person between Materials Management and the user areas
- Replenishes stock as required
- Responds to end-user requests in a professional manner
- Responsible for trakker operations such as uploads, downloads and battery maintenance
- Responsible for order verifications and initiates order variance processes
- Responsible for all shipping and receiving functions
- All other duties as assigned
NOTE: Math, process comprehension and communication skills will be tested as part of the applicant screening process.
WAGE RATE
Hourly: $28.19......$29.40 .......$30.61
(plus 14% in lieu of benefits)
