About Your Role As a Senior Analyst / Advisor, Operational Due Diligence and Advisory , you will provide support in operational due diligence (“ODD”) efforts of external managers and partners by supporting the team’s activities, including assigned portions of operational due diligence mandates, focused analysis and data organization as well as research and operational support.

  • Participate in operational due diligence reviews of external managers/partners and perform assigned portions of such mandates, including preliminary research, and review
  • Provide operational support to the ODD team, including assisting with ad-hoc projects and production of KPIs and internal reporting
  • Contribute to as the evolution, use and implementation of technology platforms and third-party service providers of systems and/or services associated with ODD
  • Propose enhancement, redesign of process and/or framework that would enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the core activities and contribute to documentation of ODD processes and procedures
  • Coordinate and participate in assigned operational due diligence reviews of external managers/partners and/or service providers (administrators, directors, outsourced arrangements)
  • Evaluate accounting, financial and reporting processes and controls (segregation of duties, cash management, valuation practices, trading errors, expense recharges, outsourcing, etc.) and write draft or preliminary due diligence reports containing pertinent information and analyses related to assigned internal controls or topics
  • Perform ongoing monitoring by ensuring the identification and documentation of operational degradation indicators for managers and partners is flagged for attention
  • Deliver ongoing KPIs and statistics
  • Test and perform quality control verifications on tools/databases
  • Ensure procedures, workflows, checklists are in place for core activities; ensure controls are performed according to corporate procedures
  • Manage the development and/or maintenance of tools that increase the level of operational oversight and enhance efficiency

What You’ll Need

  • University degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years in operational due diligence, audit, internal controls, risk or compliance
  • Good understanding of financial instruments
  • Good understanding of the financial services sector
  • Good knowledge of control objectives and testing (i.e., similar to audit reviews)
  • Strong IT process and governance background
  • Strong technical knowledge on the Microsoft suite, including Power BI, advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros, etc.)
  • Experience with database management tools (i.e., SQL or similar) is a plus
  • Leadership, initiative, proactivity and forward thinking
  • Project management skills, flexibility, and ability to multitask and adapt to a changing environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Thoughtfulness, attention to detail and methodical approach
  • Diplomacy and excellent communication and relationship-management skills
  • Team spirit and ability to develop effective working relations based on collaboration and a positive attitude
  • Sense of responsibility and accountability
  • Strong work ethic and professional integrity
  • Bilingualism: English and French (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
