About the role

Administrative Assistant – Canada Summer Jobs

Lethbridge Family Services (LFS) is seeking an administrative assistant to join our team! This position will provide support in our DaCapo department. In this role, you will provide reception, administrative, and accounting services to DaCapo, as well as assist as requested with overall administrative duties and general reception.

Administrative assistants:

  • answer all telephone and in-person callers promptly and politely,

  • provide correct information about the department’s services,

  • ensure public contacts are provided in a manner that respects individuals’ culture, heritage, religion, and identity,

  • maintain client confidentiality,

  • process ingoing and outgoing mail for the department and complete errands as requested,

  • enter, verify and review data, and

  • maintain, organize, and manage department files.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • meet Canada Summer Jobs Employee Criteria:

o - be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment,

o - be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment, and

o - have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

  • a high school diploma and/or a minimum of one year experience in the field,

  • excellent verbal and written communication skills,

  • ability to work a flexible schedule and adapt to changes, and

  • proficient use of technology and software used in the workplace.

All new employees of LFS must provide a police information check and vulnerable sector check dated not less than 90 days prior to the date of hire.

Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm for 9 weeks
