Gastops’ products and services add value throughout the life cycle of complex critical equipment from the design stage through to in-service operations and support. We design, manufacture and support advanced equipment sensing and analysis products, including on-line oil debris sensors, torque measurement sensors, turbine blade health sensors, and at-line oil analysis systems.
Based in Ottawa, Ontario, the Production Technician will report into one of our three Product line Team Leads and will have a wide range of duties which ultimately focus on the manufacturing and testing of products in accordance to established quality standards.
What You’ll Do:
The Production Technician will be part of our Production team with the primary focus of building product for on time delivery. As part of your responsibilities, you will:
- Solder electronic surface mount components onto PCBs and wires to connector pins
- Be trained to operate a specialty copper wire winding machine
- Perform mechanical assembly of products and product subassemblies
- Apply RTV and potting compounds to products and subassemblies
- Support in-process testing of products and subassemblies.
- Execute test procedures on final products.
- Perform equipment calibration and maintenance.

Who You Are:
- You have hands-on experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators and power-supplies. You are familiar with hand tools and power tools like torque wrenches, screwdrivers, Allen keys, etc.
- You have basic Microsoft Office skills
- You understand and follow approved assembly and testing work instructions
- You understand the need for high-quality work and pay strict attention to detail
- You can collaborate and work with team member colleagues
What You Should Bring:
The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Optical Technician/Technologist program or equivalent with some demonstrated experience. Additionally, you:
- Have significant and demonstrable soldering experience (current or previously held J-STD-001 certification will be a significant asset)
- Have good eyesight, with the ability to pass a vision test.
- Have a high motivation with results-oriented focus
- Have a strong work ethic and organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Have strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
- Have excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Are eligible to obtain a Secret Security Clearance (NATO Level Clearance)
