We are currently seeking a Tendering Engineer to join our team in Montreal, Quebec.
Location: Montreal
Reporting to: Business Development & Tendering Manager
Education: Master degree in Civil Engineering
Experience: 2 to 5 years in tendering or project management in the construction industry
Languages: English & French
Software: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, …) - Autodesk AutoCAD.
Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, Excellent multi-tasking skills, Collaborative.
Job description
The Tendering Engineer is responsible for studying and pricing projects for tendering purpose, including the below tasks:
- reviewing and analysing the project documentation
- preparing the quantities take-off
- establishing the program of the works, considering the overall project program, cycle times, local constraints, local resources and key contractual milestones
- launching, analysing and summarizing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- establishing the pricing estimate using in-house Excel file.
- preparing and presenting internal procedure reviews documents to summarize the project scopes, the main assumptions of the study, the pricing, the proposed price and associated benchmark
- participating in the establishment of the offer, in particular the scope matrix, the program and technical clarifications
- ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards
- developing internal pricing & benchmarking tools
- feeding internal projects & contacts database
The projects studied are located across the different states of Canada.
The Tendering Engineer collaborates and coordinates with other VSL’s departments and teams located in different business units and countries: technical centres, factories, legal teams, other profit centres.
