TYPE: Part Time leading to Full Time
DURATION: Permanent
AVG. HOURS/WEEK: Varies by season
SCHEDULE: Days, Nights, Evenings, Weekends, Shift
EDUCATION: High School, College, University
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Continuous patrol of all HOCO Limited buildings and property.
- Be alert for potential problems such as suspicious individuals, unsafe or unusual conditions.
- Respond to calls for assistance in a timely manner, prioritize in order of importance
- Resolve situations as efficiently as possible and/or contact the proper authorities if required.
- Strong & professional verbal communication required, both in person and on the radio system.
- Utilize job specific training to assist in a safe and positive resolution of any incidents.
- Strong written communication required in the completion of Incident Reports.
- Provide Cash Escorts to all departments and provide ‘personal safety escort’ for employees when necessary.
- Respond to burglar and fire alarms; be capable of taking charge of the situation to ensure a positive resolution.
- Provide information and take action that will assist in the safe and efficient operation of all HOCO Limited commerce. this may include monitoring and reporting things like internal theft, safety concerns etc.
- Provide First Aid knowledge and assistance in emergency situations.
- Monitor parking lot and assist with traffic control
- Assist with small safety/maintenance issues such as salting in front of entrances etc.
SALARY: $20.40 per hour
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Ontario Security License must accompany all applications
- Complete understanding of the Private Securities Act
. Trespass to Property Act & Powers of arrest
- Full G driver’s licence and a clean 3-year driver’s abstract is required
- Certified in First Aid and CPR
- Physically fit with the ability to be on your feet for prolonged periods of time
- Experience dealing with various members of the public including those with mental health issues is considered an asset
