About the role

Operating in the hospitality and restaurant industry for nearly 50 years, Gray Collection is an award-winning group of authentically local hotels and restaurants that offer travelers from around the world the experience of friendly luxury. Our establishments include Maggie Oakes, Jacopo, Vieux-Port Steakhouse, Pincette, Bevo Bar+Pizzeria, Restaurant Gaspar, Terrasse le Perché, Terrasse William Gray, and Terrasse sur l’Auberge.

In support of the Housekeeping Manager, the Housekeeping Supervisor trains housekeeping staff, including scheduling, and assigning tasks. Ensures all rooms and common areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards. Develops and implements cleaning procedures and protocols. Conducts quality control checks to ensure work meets established standards. The ideal candidate will be dedicated, enthusiastic and self-disciplined individual with a passion for having a sincere desire and goal to provide exceptional attention to detail, customer service and a unique experience. The candidate will be efficient, courteous, professional and team player with a strong organizational and communication skills. The candidate must possess the ability to contribute to maintaining a motivated, positive and organised environment for all team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides personalized and exceptional guest service at every opportunity.
  • Ensures all rooms, public areas are clean and maintained.
  • Oversees the Housekeeping and Laundry department.
  • Leads guest rooms inspection and public areas daily to ensure that they are clean according to standards.
  • Reports all maintenance deficiencies to the maintenance department.
  • Assists Housekeeping Manager with daily housekeeping Operations to ensure for a smooth guestroom turnaround before 4pm arrival time.
  • Assists Housekeeping Manager in conducting quarterly departmental meetings with team & quarterly projects.
  • Conducts and organizes monthly Linen Inventory.
  • Plans for weekly supply inventory.
  • Ensures ongoing communication with General Manager, Front Office Manager, Maintenance, F&B Director.
  • Maintains Lost and Found.
  • Recruits, trains and provides coaching as needed.
  • Supports the department with cleaning check-outs or stayovers should a room attendant calls in sick or when needed.
  • Makes sure Guest Requests, such as, extra pillows, towels, crib, cot, etc. are being carried out.
  • Ensures team member adequately stock the pantries with linen and amenities as well as ensure they are well maintained.
  • Conducts opening and closing reports.
  • All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Computer skills an asset: knowledge of Opera (PMS), Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Possess the ability to capture all details related to cleanliness and address.
  • Maintain a professional and positive demeanor at all times.
  • Must have a passion for delivering outstanding and personable service.
  • Ability to think independently, possess good judgment, proven problem-solving skills and effective decision-making skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Available to work every weekend.
  • 3-5 years housekeeping experience.
  • 1 year in a supervisor role.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
