Join our innovative team at the forefront of 5G development! We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled professional to become an integral part of the RAN Performance OTA team in Ottawa.

If you are passionate about testing, troubleshooting, and automation in 5G and future radio access networks, this is the perfect opportunity. The Product Engineering Group RAN Performance (PEU-RP) at Ericsson is pioneering 5G development, leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as Cloud computing and Artificial Intelligence.

As a 5G OTA System Verification Developer, you will define, execute, and troubleshoot over-the-air test cases for new 5G RAN features, supporting both purpose-built and Cloud RAN deployments. In this role we will also need to collaborate closely with technical leaders, product owners, and cross-functional teams including Systems, Design, Test, and Customer Support, and play a key role in delivering high-quality products on schedule.

What you will do :

  • Conduct over-the-air testing of upcoming Ericsson 5G products and features in bother purpose build and cloud platform
  • Analyze test logs from both the network and terminal to characterize feature performance gains.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans, perform detailed data analysis, review test results, and compile insightful test reports.
  • Collaborate closely with systems, software design, and product line management teams to verify prototype solutions.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot customer issues to provide effective solutions.
  • Enhance test effectiveness to address evolving verification needs.

What you will bring :

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in science or engineering.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in telecommunications
  • Strong understanding of wireless communication theory.
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining scripts using Python, Matlab, and other programming languages.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and computer skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently as needed.

You may also have :

  • Experience in wireless communication system design and research is a strong asset.
  • Experience in wireless communication software development, particularly in L1 and L2, is highly desirable
