Job Description Chief Financial Officer Downtown Toronto (Queens Quay)
On-site : 5-days in office
Precious Metals Dealer (Mining & Metals industry experience needed)
Our client is a respected Canadian precious metals dealer, providing retail and wholesale bullion services, secure storage, and investment solutions.
This is a pivotal opportunity to step into a business that is at a key inflection point. The CFO will help stabilize operations and financial leadership following a recent leadership transition. This role is ideal for a dynamic finance leader who wants immediate impact in a lean, entrepreneurial business where every decision matters.
What You Will Be Doing
- Manage financial operations including treasury, working capital, and cash flow
- Own daily monitoring and adjustment of hedge positions to protect bullion inventory value
- Oversee inventory accounting and reconciliation across physical vaults and online platforms
- Ensure financial reporting accuracy and audit readiness, using QuickBooks (desktop), Salesforce, and Magento
- Maintain regulatory compliance including AML, KYC, and industry-specific requirements
- Serve as a key point of contact for bullion banks, brokers, auditors, and regulators
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership to drive financial discipline and operational stability
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive financial leadership
- CPA or CFA strongly preferred
- Direct experience in precious metals, mining, commodities, or trading industries
- Background in treasury management, derivatives, hedging, inventory accounting, and financial risk management
- Strong systems literacy and comfort working across ERP, CRM, and e-commerce platforms
- Clear, confident, and direct communication style
- A hands-on, detail-oriented mindset with a desire to work closely with operational teams
