Roaster

Canterbury is seeking a highly motivated Roaster to support the Manufacturing team at our Richmond branch as a full-time, permanent member of the team.
As part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll be at the heart of our production process - responsible for safely and efficiently operating our roasting equipment and systems to meet daily production goals while upholding the highest quality and food safety standards.
What you’ll do:
- Operate coffee roasters, grinders, green coffee blending and batching systems with care and consistency
- Monitor and adjust controls for whole bean batching, grinders, and silos to ensure optimal performance
- Handle green coffee dumping with attention to safety and accuracy
- Ensure all activities align with SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards and support continuous improvement
- Collaborate with the team to meet production targets and maintain a clean, safe working environment
You have:
- High School education or GED required
- Forklift certification Class 1, 4, & 5 is considered an asset
- Previous experience with SQF, HACCP, GMP and safety programs is considered an asset
- 1 year of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset
- Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset
You are great at:
- Communicating
- Working under pressure
- Working in a team
- Meeting deadlines
- Maintaining a high level of attention to detail
- Following instruction
- Staying flexible to work shifts
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
