About the role

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Supervisor, DC Maintenance Planning , on a permanent basis with our Supply Chain team.

This position requires on-site work and is based in Calgary, Alberta .

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for building performance, team leadership, and continuous improvement? Join our team as Supervisor, Maintenance Planning and help ensure our Distribution Centers run efficiently, safely, and at their best—every day.

What you’ll do:

  • Supports the execution of FCL’s Strategic Maintenance Plan by optimizing building operations and equipment utilization through timely preventive maintenance and effective breakdown response. Ensures all work is documented in Asset Planner and complies with FCL’s Food Safety Standard, while minimizing operational impact to customers.
  • Leads and supports Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance equipment, building, and grounds efficiency while reducing costs related to custodial work and waste management. Ensures adherence to and updates of Standard Operating Procedures, monitors maintenance KPIs, and drives performance improvements across the regional Maintenance Function.
  • Ensures all building systems and equipment operate in full compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements. Applies root cause analysis and proactive monitoring of leading indicators to resolve issues and prevent future problems through effective corrective actions.
  • Supports the evaluation and improvement of product and service delivery, contributing to vendor selection and contract negotiations. Manages minor vendor contracts and serves as the local project coordinator for capital renewal initiatives within the Distribution Centre Maintenance function.
  • Assists in preparing the Maintenance Function budget with a focus on cost efficiency and customer value, continuously challenging the status quo. Oversees spending within established guidelines, monitors budget variances, and provides monthly variance explanations.
  • Provides guidance and support in the development of technical knowledge and skills of Maintenance Team Members.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Supply Chain and:

  • Have 6-9 years of relevant progressively responsible experience in an industrial maintenance environment or in a commercial or industrial facility operations environment.
  • 8+ years of relevant progressively responsible experience in an industrial maintenance environment or in a commercial or industrial facility operations environment.
  • Relevant Industrial Trade Certification or Diploma in Engineering, such as a 4th Class Power Engineer license, Refrigeration Engineer license, Building Systems Technician certificate, or an equivalent building trade license.
  • Knowledgeable with regards to Industrial Refrigeration Systems, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, building envelope, material handling equipment
  • Knowledgeable in Continuous Improvement processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
