Summing it up

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations across all companies within the organization. This includes maintaining accurate records, assisting with month-end processes, and ensuring consistency and compliance in financial practices across multiple entities. The role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in accounting who is eager to grow within a collaborative and dynamic environment

What you'll be doing

Transactional accounting

  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice entry, payments and collections.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for daily and recurring transactions.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and monitor cash balances.
  • Assist with payroll related journal entries and reconciliations.

Month end Close & Reporting

  • Support month end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations and intercompany entries.
  • Assist in preparing internal financial reports and variance analysis.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records.

Operational Support

  • Collaborate with departments to ensure accurate financial data.
  • Support the administration of rental and tenant agreements.
  • Help maintain compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.

Other duties

  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation.
  • Participate in system upgrades and process improvements.
  • Support ad hoc financial projects and reporting requests.

Who you are

  • Experience in property management, hospitality, or strata-titled environments is an asset.
  • 2-3 years' of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Familiar with accounting software such as Oracle NetSuite.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 Suite.
  • Familiarity with HRIS system and Property Management Systems considered an asset.
