Who We Are
PURPLE was founded in 2017 at the intersection of industrial design, streetwear, and luxury fashion. A collective of friends and industry veterans set out to launch a collection of men’s denim and luxury basics. Denim is the anchor of the modern man’s wardrobe; PURPLE is dedicated to making that anchor more interesting.

About the Role
We are currently seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to join our Vancouver team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Intermediate Accountant will be responsible for:

Prepare and maintain reconciliations and schedules for all balance sheet accounts.

Be a key player in the month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries, collaboration with other departments, and variance analysis.

Support the annual budget and quarterly forecasting process.

Prepare Purple business transactions in accordance with accounting standards.
-
Ensure the accuracy of recorded transactions through account reconciliations, analysis, and investigation.

Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit.

Streamline accounting processes and procedures to create efficiencies and improve data accuracy.

Work collaboratively with the entire Accounting/Finance team and other departments.

Assist with other related duties and ad hoc projects as needed.
Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent.

CPA Certification or enrollment in a CPA program.
-
3+ years of accounting experience.

Ability to think critically, identify issues, interpret, and apply accounting principles.

Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills with an emphasis on teamwork.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
-
Humble and eager to learn.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong focus on Excel (pivot tables, SUMIF, and VLOOKUP functions).

Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP software.

Previous experience in wholesale distribution and/or the retail/fashion industry is an asset.

Walk into the denim section of a high-end department store or boutique and you’ll find overwhelming walls of jeans with different fits and near-identical medium and light blue washes. Innovation in fit, hardware and washes generally happens at the designer level, with high price points.
Innovation shouldn’t be limited to designer denim, we thought. So we spent several years traveling the world to find the right production partners that allow us to create an accessible product with top-quality hardware, designer fits and innovative details.
