SUMMARY

About the Role – Area Director of Luxury Leisure Sales

We are seeking an expert in the luxury leisure landscape to lead the sales strategy for Park Hyatt Toronto and Hyatt Vancouver Downtown Alberni. This highly visible role is responsible for cultivating high-end partnerships, increasing market share, and elevating the positioning of both properties in key global markets.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of luxury hotel sales experience, with a proven track record of success and an established portfolio of high-end leisure clients. A deep understanding of 5-star service standards and the ability to drive performance in the luxury segment is essential.

Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000

Role to be based in Toronto or Vancouver with travel between both properties.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement focused sales strategies to drive revenue from top-producing luxury travel agencies and consortia

  • Position Park Hyatt Toronto and Hyatt Vancouver Downtown Alberni as premier destinations within the luxury leisure market

  • Build targeted plans to increase bookings through luxury-focused partners and platforms (e.g., Amex FH&R, Virtuoso)

  • Analyze market trends and customer behavior to inform proactive strategy shifts

  • Maintain distinct messaging and sales tactics for each market while leveraging synergies across the two destinations

Client Relationship & Partnership Development

  • Lead strategic engagement with top-tier leisure travel advisors and luxury agency accounts

  • Represent both properties at global luxury travel shows, client events, and familiarization trips

  • Cultivate relationships with ultra-high-net-worth individuals and travel influencers

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Collaborate closely with on-property and regional sales teams to ensure alignment on luxury initiatives

  • Act as a mentor and thought leader within the high-end leisure segment

  • Work with DOSM, Marketing, and Revenue leaders to align on business priorities and drive revenue

Guest Experience Integration & Brand Representation

  • Ensure all strategies align with luxury service expectations and deliver elevated, personalized experiences

  • Provide input into the guest journey, pre-arrival touchpoints, and post-stay engagement to enhance guest loyalty

Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Track and report on sales performance, KPIs, and the competitive landscape

  • Identify and act on new business opportunities in emerging luxury markets

  • Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to leadership

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in luxury hotels, with a strong track record in the leisure segment
  • A robust portfolio of leisure customers and strong relationships with leading travel consortia
  • Deep understanding of luxury guest expectations and 5-star service delivery
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify and pursue high-value opportunities
  • Outstanding relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field; advanced certifications in luxury sales are a plus
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly for client meetings, trade events, and site visits
