Foster Care Administrative Assistant
Part-time Position
.5 FTE (20 hours per week)

The Program – Foster Care
The Enviros Foster Care program provides the best possible care to children at a time of upheaval in their lives by matching a foster home to the needs of the child. When children are unable to remain in their own homes or with family members, Enviros offers Foster Care for children under the age of 18.
Enviros has 68 contracted Foster Care beds. While there is no typical length of stay, Foster Care is not designed to be a permanent placement for children, and ideally they are returned to parents, or placed with guardians, family members or another more permanent home environment
The Position – Foster Care Office Support Worker
The Foster Care Office Support Worker will provide assistance to the Foster Care team with electronic applications, data creating, processing and entry, file maintenance and transferring hard copy to electronic copy. They will support with transferring information to an electronic data base, create electronic documents to help with electronic files and support foster care workers and team with foster families file upkeep and ensuring they follow policy guideline.
For Consideration Applicants Will Need to Demonstrate the Following

An ability to be highly organized, energetic and flexible

Strong interpersonal skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong knowledge of Information Technology

Above average attention to detail
-
Ability to work independently, as well as be part of a team

Good computer literacy skills

Diploma in Business Administration with focus on Information technology Diploma (equivalencies may be considered)

Knowledge of Sharepoint and Sharevision
-
Two or more years experience in a similar role.

A current criminal record check including vulnerable sector (completed within the last 6 months)
-
A current Alberta Intervention Record check (completed within the last 12 months)
Duties & Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
-
Support Foster Care team with electronic files
-
Enter data from hard copy to electronic copy
-
Process and review documents that require signatures or other fillable electronic forms
-
Communicate with foster care team around electronic files and additional support needed to maintain compliance with funders and policy
-
Offer support and training for foster families on how to sign or upload digital copies to an electronic file
-
Receive and register documents for data entry
-
Enter data according to specified format
-
Transfer data between software
-
Verify accuracy and completeness of data
-
Store, update and maintain databases
-
Perform backup procedures
-
Perform general office duties
-
Classify, label and store diskettes/ disks and tapes of data

Create digital records using a scanner
-
Transfer handwritten data to Excel or Word documents
-
Perform special projects as directed
Salary: $25,000/ annually

Principle Based Practice Enviros’ Principle Based Practice is a model that utilizes principles to guide and drive action in practice, a decision-making tool in our interventions addressing critical areas of need, and the foundational structure of support for the crucial work we do incorporating strengths and culture into our day-to-day interactions. This model utilizes core principles to ensure a holistic approach is taken when supporting people. It ensures there is direction from the person served and an integrated planning mechanism where natural supports are present. This practice supports individuals to reach their vision for themselves and reduce reliance on systems.
Enviros developed our principles to reach across the organization and to be applicable in all areas of our service delivery continuum. They represent our core beliefs in supporting people. The definition and resulting action of principles are interwoven into the therapeutic models in each program and create a basis for implementation of other leading practices.
