The Centre for Accessible Learning Exams team has key student-facing and instructor-facing responsibilities to ensure that SFU upholds its legal obligation to provide reasonable accommodations to students with disabilities. The team administers over 10,000 unique accommodated exams per year and works collaboratively with Disability Access Advisors and Exam Assistants to create an inclusive environment during the accommodated exam-writing experience. Our team values trust, open communication, creative problem-solving, and shares a commitment to improving the student experience.
About the Role
This role will actively participate as part of the CAL Exams Team in researching, creating and delivering student-focused accommodated exam services. The Specialist, Accessible Exam Services will ensure that students with disabilities feel "welcome, safe, accepted and valued" at the CAL Exam Centres. They will have a passion for detail, organization and service, as they are responsible for ensuring that the unique requirements of each accommodated exam are tracked, implemented and monitored. The Specialist, Accessible Exam Services will also take an active role and demonstrate initiative in supporting the Manager, Accessible Exam Services, with recruiting, training and supervision of Exam Assistant Invigilators.
We are looking for a resourceful, energetic and highly-organized individual who is a natural leaders and is passionate about equity for students with disabilities.
