Neurologist (200-1414)
The Island Health Division of Neurology has opportunities for an additional Neurologists to join a group of 5 Colleagues.
We seek enthusiastic candidates with an interest in developing subspecialty Neurology Service in one of three areas; Epilepsy, Headache and Cognitive Neurology. This will complement the current Stroke, MS, Movement Disorders, Neurophysiology and Neuro-Ophthalmology Services. Candidates will be participating in inpatient and outpatient-based care while finding that a balance of work and life is possible in this dynamic and growing community. Opportunities to provide Medical Education with University affiliation is all part of this engaging practice environment.
The successful candidate with hold Royal College certification, be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC, and demonstrate commitment to providing community based stroke care.
Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (315 acute care beds) is our regional referral hospital providing services to an immediate population of 125,000 and a secondary referral population of well over 350,000. Hospital based services include EEG, EMG, a rehabilitation inpatient unit, CT and MRI.
Academic affiliation with the University of British Columbia (UBC) and the Island Medical School postgraduate and undergraduate programs is available, and NRGH is a UBC Postgraduate Family Practice Residency Program site with 16 family practice residents.
