The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) offers challenging and exciting careers in health and social services delivery and administration in Canada’s North. Job Information

Are you an organized, compassionate professional ready to make a meaningful impact? In this vital role, you¿ll provide administrative, logistical, and financial services that help deliver culturally grounded, community-driven programs supporting the wellbeing of families across the Northwest Territories. As part of a team committed to prioritizing cultural safety and relationship-based care you¿ll oversee reception, file management, operations, and data collection, while also supporting Community Social Services Workers in their essential work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive reception and administrative services for the Child and Family Services division, including managing office systems, supplies, and documentation, supporting meetings and reporting, and maintaining a professional and organized workspace.
  • Implement and maintain file management system to ensure accurate classification and secure storage of records.

Key Skills and Abilities:

  • Administrative knowledge: Proficiency in office procedures, information management and Microsoft Word.
  • Strong written and oral communication abilities.
  • Prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, recording and compiling information accurately, and ensuring paperwork requirements are met in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to acquire cultural awareness of Aboriginal traditions and maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Key Qualifications:

  • A diploma in Office Administration that includes computer courses, or equivalent training and work experience and a minimum of two (2) years providing support to management and a work unit.

Equivalencies:

  • Certificate in Office Administration that includes computer courses and a minimum three years providing support to management and a work unit
  • Four years working in office administration with a minimum two years providing support to management and a work unit
  • All other equivalencies will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
