About the role

Unified Valve Group is currently looking for a Shop Foreman for our Edmonton branch. The Shop Foreman is responsible for the supervision and production of the branch floor activities as designated by the Branch Manager

If you are a self-starter that enjoys keeping busy, and being challenged, this may be the role for you! This position is full-time permanent.

Responsibilities:

  • To set work priorities and plan production consistent with the requirements of the Quality and Safety systems
  • Maintain a safe working environment for all employees, contractors and visitors
  • Maintain production and profitability of the branch and coordinate all work to meet customer deadlines
  • Ensures that the Branch Manager is informed of key issues which may affect quality through proper quality records and meetings
  • Communicate safety requirements to all employees
  • Ensures that branch employees are adequately trained to perform their designated tasks
  • Maintains machinery, measuring and test equipment, or tools as supported by Quality system records and direction from manager
  • Ensure that employees maintain a clean safe work environment
  • Ensures that customer communications are consistent with the objectives, philosophies and goals of Unified Valve
  • Adherence to Unified Valve Group’s Safety Policies and Procedures

Requirements:

  • PRV/PSV experience
  • Strong technical knowledge
  • Technical certificate an asset
  • Strong problem-solving ability with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional communicator and customer service oriented with good interpersonal skills
  • Proven attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills are required, experience with Great Plains and ValveTek would be an asset
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. Must be able to frequently stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms and stoop
  • Ability to read and write clearly
  • Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment Test (Drug, Alcohol and Fit test)
