Job Summary
Smugglers is seeking a friendly and organized Host/Hostess to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional hospitality and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role is essential in managing the flow of guests and enhancing their dining experience through excellent customer service.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and escort them to their tables.
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using OpenTable.
- Communicate effectively with guests regarding wait times and special requests.
- Provide assistance to guests by answering questions about the menu and restaurant services.
- Collaborate with restaurant staff to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and dining area.
- Handle phone inquiries with professionalism, providing information about the restaurant and taking reservations as needed.
- Support food service staff during busy periods by assisting with seating arrangements or other tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Must be advanced in OpenTable reservation system.
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service, preferably in a restaurant or hotel setting.
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills to engage with guests effectively.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A friendly demeanor with a passion for guest services and helping others.
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
