YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Shaft Supervisor, you will be part of the Mine Shaft Crew Department. The Hoist Operator will be directly responsible for operating proficiently in the safe and efficient operation of all hoists at #2 Shaft, #3 Shaft, #4 Shaft, and including the Maryanns to ensure that all daily checks are done in accord with the OHSA; which includes testing of the brakes, overwinds, under winds, track limits and all other tests as required, and any other duties as assigned and as may be later assigned by your supervisor or his/her designate. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping
- Record results of all tests in Hoist Person’s logbook
- Ensure that all equipment is adequately provided with operating supplies throughout the shift
- Ensure that any equipment deemed damaged or unsafe by virtue of a defect, or a machine of which any protection system is inoperative, is not used, and communicated to the Shift Supervisor
- Demonstrate commitment to safety and health reduce reportable to zero
- Assist with scheduled maintenance and repairs in the field
- Coordinate with the Operations Supervisor for all scheduled maintenance activities; optimize the schedule so that production impact is minimized
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma
- Hoist Experience and MTCU Module
- Understand and apply Safe Work practices
- High Level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning
- Excellent multi-tasking and organization skills
