Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Digital Content and Social Media Specialist (DCSMS) is responsible for planning, creating, producing, and distributing multimedia content across social media and digital platforms to support Good Samaritan’s communications, marketing, and community engagement goals. This role combines creative production with strategic social media management and storytelling, ensuring that content reflects the organization’s mission, values, and brand standards. In collaboration with the Communications team, the DCSMS will manage content projects from concept through to final delivery, including video production, photography, graphics, and copywriting. They will also be responsible for maintaining an active, engaging, and mission-aligned social media presence for the organization.

Requirements:
Education and Other Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in communications, marketing, digital media, or a related field.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in digital content creation and/or social media management.
NOTE: An equivalent combination of education and other qualifications and work experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced proficiency in video editing using Premiere Pro or equivalent software.
- Intermediate experience in photography and graphic design.
- Well-developed understanding of social media platforms, content trends, and audience engagement strategies.
- Advanced creative writing skills for social media content.
- Ability to work independently and manage content production from start to finish.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to communicate in and understand English, both verbally and in writing.
- Proficient interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively deal with challenging circumstances in a diplomatic and professional manner.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying workload and an environment which regularly undergoes change (both planned and unplanned) to accommodate resident needs and/or organizational circumstances.
- Exhibits an open and sincere approach to other persons, demonstrating respect and compassion, and maintaining the dignity and self-worth of those persons they encounter.
- Exhibits cultural sensitivity, respecting and adapting to diverse background and beliefs of other persons.
