The Cook's Assistant works under limited supervision and in accordance with catering or tally sheets in prioritizing, preparing and storing a variety of fresh ingredients and foods that will be served to patients. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 2111 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required. Knowledge of quantity food preparation techniques, safe food handling and sanitation procedures required. Ability to read, write, speak & understand English required.
Preferred Qualifications:
An equivalent combination of education & experience may be considered. WHMIS certificate desired. Food safe certificate desired. One year of food service experience in a hospital/institutional setting is desired.
