Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and motivated Product Developer to join our Research & Development (R&D) team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing innovative food products from concept to commercialization, ensuring they meet consumer expectations, regulatory requirements, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Product Development:
  • Collaborate with internal & customer teams to identify trends and generate ideas for new products or line extensions.
  • Translate consumer needs into creative product concepts.
  • Develop and test formulations to achieve desired taste, texture, appearance, and shelf life.
  • Conduct sensory evaluations and modify recipes to improve performance.
  • Maintain detailed records of trials and formulations.
  • Scale-Up & Commercialization:
  • Work with manufacturing teams to scale up recipes for production.
  • Troubleshoot issues during pilot and full-scale production runs.

Support continuous improvement activities at the factory and laboratory levels.

  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure all products meet regulatory and food safety standards.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to develop proper labeling and allergen information.
  • Project Management:
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and budget.
  • Provide regular updates and presentations to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Food Science, Culinary Arts, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in food product development or a similar role in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of ingredient functionality, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, CFIA, or equivalent).
  • Hands-on experience with food processing equipment and techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
