The Opportunity

Deveraux Developments is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our expanding finance team in Calgary. Reporting to one of our divisional Controllers and providing cross-functional support to a second Controller, this newly created role reflects the evolving needs of our growing organization. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls across a portfolio of entities within the Deveraux Group of Companies. What you bring...

  • CPA designation
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in public practice
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with accounting software (QuickBooks Desktop experience is an asset)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with a proactive and solution-oriented approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset
  • A desire to learn and grow, with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence

You will...

  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information through day-to-day accounting tasks, including journal entries, invoicing, and reconciliations
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual GST, PST, and RST returns and remittances
  • Prepare working papers and support the completion of annual financial statements and tax filings across multiple entities
  • Assist with external audit requirements
  • Prepare ad hoc accounting and reporting activities, as assigned
  • Participate in finance initiatives focused on automations, process simplification, enhanced controls and documentation and future system conversions
  • Provide coverage and support to other accounting team members

Additional Information

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or valid work permit). A satisfactory Criminal Background Check is required.
