About the role

This is an entry-level role at our Emterra Surrey plant that will give a person great exposure to multiple aspects of the industry.
What will you do?
Ensure recyclable materials brought in are safe and do not contain banned materials.
Work closely with both external and internal customers to ensure receiving and shipping schedules are completed and documentation is accurate.
Communicate effectively and professionally via email and telephone.
Accurately perform routine data entry into a computer, make accurate basic mathematical calculations, and maintain legible records.
Ensure that all customers and employees conduct business in a safe manner and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Willingness to be trained and take on administrative responsibilities to support the plant team.
General office duties including filing, answering phones, and performing other duties as required.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Reports to the Scale Supervisor and Plant Manager.
What will you bring?
Grade 12 or GED equivalency; job-related post-secondary education considered an asset.
Previous experience in a related office or administrative role considered an asset.
Previous experience in scale operation considered an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook); able to type 45 words per minute.
Strong ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Experience in the waste management and recycling industry preferred.
