The Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) is seeking a Manager of Communications & Marketing to join our dynamic Public Affairs team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to:
- Work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and mission-driven environment.
- To strategically engage with a wide variety of business sectors.
- Help shape the voice of Ontario’s business community.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute communication, marketing and content management strategies across digital, social, and news media.
- Manage the OCC’s brand and marketing program, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Support the development and refinement of brand guidelines and ensure adherence across all Chamber properties, ensuring a clear, consistent and professional image.
- Develop and oversee public and media relations strategies; work to ensure that the organization is perceived favourably by the public, stakeholders, and the media.
- Collaborate with various departments on the development, review, approvals, and distribution of public communications, including media releases. Proactively develop and promote op-eds to media outlets
- Create effective, tailored content for the OCC website, social media platforms and e-newsletters.
- Collaborate with internal partners to support amplification campaigns and enhance member engagement.
- Manage planning and tracking tools to support work plans and strategic outcomes.
- Oversee the creation of materials for programs, events, and other key member and stakeholder engagement initiatives, including copy, taglines, marketing plans and schedules, email marketing materials, social media content, and promotional toolkits.
- Develop and manage relationships with outside vendors to execute both ongoing and limited-scope projects.
- Manage and track occasional ad buys and other paid media, and provide project management, guidance, and/or support for advertising managed by external vendors.
- Lead by example in building a strong culture that brings out the best in team members, helps make the OCC a great place to work, and provides team members with opportunities to build important skills.
- Manage and mentor direct reports.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations.
- 5+ years of experience in at least one of the above fields.
- 3+ years of experience in a team leadership role.
- Strong strategic thinking and persuasive communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated excellence in writing, editing, and verbal communication, with the ability to write clearly and persuasively for different formats and audiences.
- A proactive and flexible attitude, with a keen interest in public policy, business, and economic issues.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive salary and compensation package that includes life and health insurance benefits and a matching RRSP plan.
- An annual merit-based bonus plan.
- 3 weeks of vacation plus office closure between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

- Permanent, full-time hybrid position with a minimum of 3 days of work in our downtown Toronto office. Some travel within Ontario may be required.
