Position Title: BUYPOC Event and Logistics Market Coordinator
Salary: 19$/hr
Working hours 15 hours per week
Contract dates: August 4th 2025 - April 17st, 2026
Application deadline: July 25th 2025
Interview dates: July 29th and July 30th, 2025
Responsibilities:
Vendor Coordination:
- Communicate with BIPOC vendors to ensure their seamless participation in the market series.
- Provide necessary information, guidelines, and support to vendors leading up to and during the event.
- Assist in the selection and assignment of vendor spaces.
- Monitor Buypoc emails (buypoc@ceedconcordia.org and buypoc@gmail.com) and answer any questions or concerns from vendors.
- Verify attendance on the day of the market.
- Coordinate with vendors for the giveaway.
- Serve as a point of contact for vendors and address any logistical concerns or issues.
- Collect feedback from vendors after the event.
- Assist attendees with logistical inquiries during the event.
Event Planning and Execution:
- Collaborate with various teams to plan and execute events that align with BUYPOC Market Series objectives.
- Create and execute outreach strategies to attract attendees to BUYPOC events, utilizing social media, community partnerships, and local advertising to raise awareness, drive attendance, and support the success of these events.
- Oversee event logistics, including vendor setup, layout, and overall event flow.
- Manage on-site coordination during events to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
Venue Coordination:
- Work with the booking officer to secure and prepare the event space.
- Coordinate with vendors and venues to accommodate their needs (electrical outlets, clothing racks, etc).
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the Social Media Coordinator to align logistics with overall event objectives and ensure adequate promotion.
- Provide regular updates to the team on logistical planning and execution.
Social Media Content:
- Work closely with the Communications Coordinator to align logistics with overall event objectives and ensure adequate promotion.
- Provide regular updates to the team on logistical planning and execution.
- Develop and create visually appealing graphics, layouts, and promotional materials for both print and digital platforms, ensuring brand consistency and engaging design to communicate our message effectively.
- Create short-form content (reels) to post from each event highlighting each market
- Proficient in editing software such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro etc.
Reporting:
- Participate in financial and narrative reporting to the funder
- Prepare any reports/presentations needed for the funder
- Track and report on project-related costs

CEED (Community. Empowerment. Education. Development.) Concordia is a non-profit organization located in Montreal, Canada and in Gulu, Uganda. Our organization is dedicated to social justice and community empowerment by supporting youth. We are working to shape better communities today and future leaders for a better tomorrow.
Our program is supported by a fee-levy of Concordia University Undergraduate students; an expression of the Concordia community's commitment to global civic responsibility and experiential learning. We strive to create opportunities for students both from Montreal and Uganda to gain firsthand experience in the field of international community development. Every year, more than 50 Concordia students become involved in our program though internships in Uganda, through our accredited course on International Community Engagement, and through various positions with our organization at Concordia.
Our projects in Uganda address a broad range of needs and issues faced by youth in the Gulu community. Gulu is a post-conflict and high poverty region; the needs of the community are serious and varied. Youth in particular are facing increased pressures in the region and CEED is dedicated to building capacity for young people to transform themselves and their community.
