About the role
About our client: A leading full-service law firm, with diverse clientele, that is committed to providing prompt and practical service through a hands-on approach in a team-oriented environment. Their lawyers and staff are team oriented and have a collegial work environment.
Position: Family Lawyer (minimum of 4+ years of experience) Responsibilities
- Independently manage family law files, optional additional areas of law within firm.
- Handle a wide range of family law matters, including separation agreements, spousal maintenance, and asset division.
- Conduct hearings, discoveries, mediations, and trials.
- Instruct support staff and receive instructions from clients.
- Draft pleadings and speak to chamber applications.
- Negotiate at mediations and appear at trials.
- Manage all aspects of a file from beginning to end.
- Experience in general civil litigation is an asset.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of current experience in British Columbia family law practice.
- Ability to handle challenging work and manage files independently.
- Strong judgment, work ethic, and interpersonal skills.
- Desire to become part of the community served.
- Enthusiasm for growing practice and working towards partnership.
Compensation
- Base salary depending on the year of call
