Savage is hiring a Class 1 Truck Driver in Point Tupper!

- $20.00/hourly (flat rate) with supplemental Driver pay up to $28.00

Here’s a preview of what you’ll be doing:
Safely and efficiently transport coal to and from our customer's locations. Drive a rotation of 12-hour shifts (this site operates 7 days/week and shifts may change based on operational needs).
What are we looking for?
- Valid Class 1 Driver's License
- Willing to load trucks (with coal) using a payloader – training provided if required
- High School or GED
- 18 years of age or older
- Minimum of 1-year experience operating tractor/trailer combination
- The ability to:
- work from written and verbal instructions
- work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules
- safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of his or her own self, or the safety of others
- work overtime as required
- read, write, and understand English
- Successful candidates must be willing to work any shift, including weekends (no overnight work)
Physical Requirements
- This position requires the willingness and ability to work at heights as well as climb stairs
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Work in an environment containing coal dust and in hot, cold, and wet environments
- Must have the ability and willingness to perform the essential physical functions of the position
- Candidates must be willing and able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
