Role Overview

As a Dance Instructor at Step.co, you’ll design and deliver high-energy choreography and dance sessions tailored for a wide range of skill levels. You’ll teach live online classes, record on-demand videos, and help build an engaging, supportive community. Your charisma and camera presence will bring every routine to life, motivating our members to move, grow, and have fun.

Key Responsibilities

• Class Design & Delivery
• Create dance routines (hip-hop, jazz, contemporary, etc.) in 10–30 min formats
• Teach live virtual classes, ensuring clear cues, enthusiastic energy, and skill-appropriate modifications
• Record and perform on-demand sessions in our studio, collaborating with our production team
• Community Engagement
• Interact with members during and after class via chat/Q&A
• Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to foster retention and progression
• Collaboration & Growth
• Work with the Content & Coaching team to refine class scripts, cue sheets, and on-screen prompts
• Participate in monthly coach roundtables to share best practices and innovative ideas
• Help test new platform features and give feedback on user experience

Qualifications & Skills

• Dance Expertise: Minimum 3 years teaching dance or equivalent performance experience
• Camera Presence: Medium to high charisma; comfortable presenting on-camera
• Online Teaching: Experience with live-stream platforms (Zoom, OBS, etc.) a strong asset
• Communication: Clear verbal cues, positive coaching style, patient with varying skill levels
• Tech Savvy: Basic familiarity with video-conferencing tools and online content platforms
• Passion for Movement: Enthusiastic about inspiring learners to build confidence through dance

Compensation & Incentives

• Base Rate: $50–$100 /hour (depending on experience)
• Revenue Share: Up to 10% of net class-view subscription revenue tied to your videos
