About the role
Job Description We are currently recruiting for a Property and Casualty Claims Adjuster to join our team in southwestern Ontario. This is a hybrid role with a combination of work from home and field work. Candidates must reside in the Windsor region to handle field claims in person.
The successful candidate will investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle property and casualty claims. The candidate will participate in ensuring accurate recording, reporting, and presentation of files.
Responsibilities
- Interviewing claimants and witnesses
- Obtaining official documents
- Comparing claims information with evidence
- Determination of liability
- Makes offer to claimants
- Issue cheque
- Dispose of salvage
- Pursue subrogation
- Accurate recording, reporting and presentation of files, including presentation of evidence at legal proceedings
- Maintenance of accurate billing, and time and expense records
- Work with manager to maintain client relations
Qualifications
- 2 years of technical experience in an insurance claims environment, with strong knowledge of property claims is required. Knowledge of commercial lines will be considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education in an insurance related field working towards full license and CIP designation is an asset
- Proficient in a claims management system, maintaining accurate and detailed activity, transaction and reserve records
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including report writing
- Must be a team player with a strong commitment to quality and customer service
