Rocky View County is recruiting Presiding Deputy Returning Officers (PDROs) and Deputy Returning Officers (DROs) who want to be on the front lines of democracy for the upcoming 2025 Municipal Election. Election workers play an important front-line role in ensuring that the election process follows the rules as voters make their democratic choice. Core Accountabilities
Presiding Deputy Returning Officer (PDRO): Think of PDROs as voting station leaders. They supervise and provide oversight to Deputy Returning Officers on election day and help solve any issues that may come up at a station. PDROs need sufficient understanding of election rules to answer questions and ensure all election processes are followed. By leading their station well, they ensure electors vote in an orderly fashion.
Wage: $550 flat rate
Time Commitment:
- Able to attend one of the following 3-hour training sessions:
- Session 1 – September 29, 2025 – 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Session 2 – October 2, 2025 – 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Session 3 – October 4, 2025 – 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Able to work long hours (9:00 AM – midnight) on election day (Oct 20).
- As part of the training for the PDRO position you will be assigned to work at least one of the following advance vote shifts for hands on training prior to election day. The wage for advance poll shifts is $275.00.

Position-Specific Requirements:
- Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license and use of a vehicle (strongly preferred).
- Possess a cell phone to be used for communication.
- Able to repeatedly lift up to 20 lbs.
- Collect materials, signage, and stationary from the County Hall prior to election day

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- All required training and support for successful applicants will be provided by the County.
