Bookkeeper or Senior Bookkeeper
Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to execute full-service bookkeeping engagements for various clients of our practice. You will be responsible for recording all financial transactions, including cash, cheque and credit card payments, maintaining all financial records, completing required tax forms, processing payroll, and generating regular reports for our clients’ management team. Our ideal candidate has worked as a professional Bookkeeper for at least three years and has experience managing a variety of accounts.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receiving and organizing source documents into client files
- Entering transactions for bank and cc, adhering to GAAP principals,
- Understanding of multicurrency an asset
- Validating client entered transactions for correctness
- Use programs to calculate HST
- Calculating HST and reasonability testing, review P&L and locate any errors between Sales
- Locate and correct HST issues in tax modules of QB programs
- File HST with CRA (representative ID an asset)
- Calculate WSIB and file WSIB reports
- Calculate and prepare EHT reports
- Prepare payroll accurately with vacation and source deductions
- Prepare payroll remittances per client reporting requirements
- Match TB from PY year and book adjusting entries
- Prepare documents and reports necessary for yearend review
- Review CRA accounts and interpret various reporting requirements
- Save and organize client reports
- Interact with clients and internally as required
- Ability to work independently and as a team
Bookkeeper Requirements and Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in business administration, accounting, finance or relevant field preferred
- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, certifications an asset
- Proficient with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Sage 50 (Simply Accounting), DropBox file systems
- Lone Wolf, Spire, Sage 300, CaseWare and TeamViewer knowledge considered an asset
- Excellent communication and math skills
- Knowledge of payroll and bookkeeping principles
- Have reliable transportation and able to work at client sites when needed
