About the role

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive repair and customer service, with the ability to lead a team effectively. As the Service Manager, you will oversee daily operations in our service department, ensuring high-quality service delivery while maximizing customer satisfaction and sales opportunities.

Duties

  • Manage and supervise the service department staff, including mechanics and service advisors, to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Utilize mechanical knowledge to assist technicians with complex repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Implement upselling strategies to promote additional services and products to customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of service transactions, including cash handling and sales reports.
  • Collaborate with the general manager to develop service department goals and objectives.
  • Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices within the service area.
  • CoStar experience is an asset.

Experience

  • Proven experience in a managerial role within an automotive dealership or repair facility is preferred. Canadian Tire experience is a definite asset.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair is an asset.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building lasting relationships with clients.
  • Experience in cash handling and sales processes is beneficial.
  • Ability to train and mentor staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages growth and development.
