Eventscape has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Assistant to join our team.
This position plays a critical support role in our Toronto office for our Receivables, Payables, Reception, and Travel teams. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized and innovative self-starter who can manage multiple ongoing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
**Note: This is a 100% in-office position in Toronto, Canada. We are not currently sponsoring candidates from outside of Canada.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Accounting Assistant position will:
- Reconcile accounts and allocate revenue and expenses accurately across projects and departments.
- Prepare and issue invoices, support monthly accrual processes, and assist with billing inquiries.
- Monitor project costs and budgets, track expenses, and support cost reporting.
- Assist in project costing, resolving discrepancies, and coordinating with clients and internal teams.
- Prepare AR aging reports and support accounts receivable follow-up.
- Liaise with vendors regarding invoices, payments, and credit notes.
- Maintain accurate records through data entry, filing, and management of both physical and digital files.
- Provide general administrative support to accounting and other departments as needed.
- Assist with travel arrangements, shipping logistics, and scheduling couriers.
- Provide reception relief, including answering phones, distributing mail, and greeting visitors.
- Help maintain organized and accessible document filing systems.
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will have:
- Post-secondary education in Business, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
- High proficiency with Office 365, especially Excel (VLOOKUP and pivot tables).
- Experience with Sage accounting software is a plus.
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
- Experience in architecture, construction, or manufacturing (an asset).
