We currently have an opening for a full-time permanent Component Shop Technician.
Reporting to the Shops Manager, the Component Shop Technician is responsible for the overhaul, repair and inspection of a variety of aircraft components utilizing specialized tools and modern NDT techniques in support of our growing fleet. This position will primarily comprise of off-wing maintenance carried out within a shop environment but may necessitate on-wing maintenance locally or in the field.
In this role your duties will include the following:
- Overhaul, repair, inspection, and servicing of aircraft components
- Inspection, testing and calibration of specialized tooling and instruments
- NDT inspections in a variety of disciplines inclusive of MPI, LPI, ET and UT
- Recertification of Avionics components and equipment
- Maintenance of Lead Acid and NiCad batteries
- Demonstrate safe practices and techniques to foster a safe workplace environment
- Work within a team environment performing in a professional and courteous manner
- Fostering strong professional relationships with teammates and customers
- Perform duties in accordance with Conair’s policies, procedures and applicable regulating bodies
- Complete assigned tasks and related documentation in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain currency as applicable to Conair memos, maintenance bulletins and notices
- Knowledge of CARs as related to aircraft maintenance
- Perform other duties as required
We are looking for someone with:
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Possess a high standard of quality and attention to detail in all aspects of duties
- Familiar with utilizing precision measuring equipment
- Skilled in working effectively with hand tools and power equipment
- Ability to interpret and analyze technical drawings and literature
- Knowledge of all safety protocols governing tasks being performed
- Must have an intrinsic desire to continuously improve workplace safety
- Must maintain the requirements for an effective respirator fit test
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with staff and customers
- Ability to pivot efficiently to satisfy production demands as instructed
- Decisive and self-motivated to meet department objectives while maintaining exceptional interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in technical English
Training/Education:
- Must have a strong mechanical aptitude
- NDT experience is an asset
- Avionics or electrical experience is an asset
- AME license is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and general computer skills is an asset
- Successful completion of an approved aviation trade school is an asset
