About the role

Overview

With a recent territory expansion and rapid business growth, Commercial Truck Equipment Co. is looking for an individual to join the quoting team to compile proposals and bid responses for our Utility division. One of our team members has been promoted to a new role, so we are eagerly hiring to fill the vacancy. Reporting to our Operations Manager, and working in lockstep with our current Utility Contract Specialists from our Annacis Island head office, the Utility Equipment Estimator will play a pivotal role in the early project management process, working with vendors and suppliers, our in-house engineering department, sales staff, production staff, and the client to compile compliant, safe, competitive, and properly-priced proposals.

The person likely to be successful in this role will have some manner of automotive mechanical knowledge, experience, or background, as well as some experience writing and communicating in a professional business environment. In addition, a basic understanding of truck and heavy equipment fabrication and assembly processes would be a great asset.

Employees that have been successful for us have come from broad and varied backgrounds including marine, light automotive, aviation, aerospace, and heavy equipment, but they all share a few common traits: They’re curious, accountable, responsible, and independent logical thinkers with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability. They’re technically savvy, and they can communicate politely and professionally across a variety of different stakeholder groups. We encourage all candidates with interest and direct or adjacent knowledge and experience to apply.
