Lead, Line Service Representative

About the role

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, FBO, the Lead, Line Service Representative will be responsible for overseeing and assisting with the day to day operational functions of all line service staff. The individual in this position will be the main point of contact and the accountable person when the FBO Supervisors and Manager are off site.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor all line service representatives to create an operationally safe environment, with a focus on safety training and awareness
  • Create and maintain a positive work environment, where team members behave and feel part of a cohesive unit, reinforcing the contribution of all team members
  • Coach and motivate all team members through dispute and/or conflict resolution, and manage other issues or problems as they arise
  • Monitor team members for procedural compliance (360s, chocking of trucks on FBO ramp parking area, wearing of PPE etc.)
  • Communicate with CSRs and line staff to ensure a safe operation of all ramp related activities, inclusive of, aircraft fueling /aircraft towing/marshalling, etc.
  • Ensure all aircraft on shift are fueled safely and on time, with the following priority, MOH, terminal commercial carriers (Porter, Air Canada), base tenants and itinerants
  • Work with FBO Supervisor and CSR team to assign duties and breaks to LSRs at the start of their shift wherever possible
  • Perform and record all daily, weekly, monthly and annual logs for WFS mobile refuellers and Porter fuel farm
  • Ensure FSII records are maintained through oversight
  • Monitor fuel inventory balances for both Avgas and Jet fuel and liaise with CSRs and FBO Supervisor to place fuel orders, as required
  • Coordinate and assist with activities of line service in testing aviation fuel, applying knowledge of quality assurance standards and procedures
  • Ensure general cleanliness and maintenance upkeep of Porter FBO shuttle vehicles, fuel trucks and lektros
  • Report all FBO equipment malfunction to FBO Supervisor or Manager
  • Ensure all fuel trucks have adequate fuel for the start of the next shift
  • Participate in evaluations of probationary team members and provide feedback to FBO Supervisor and Manager
  • Ensure FBO Supervisor and Manager are made aware all procedural noncompliance and performance issues with specific details
  • Conduct daily shift briefings with LSR team members
  • Participate in regular team member meetings with the Line Service team
  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 1 year experience in below wing/FBO operations
  • Ability to work on a permanent basis in Canada
  • Must have a Valid G license with a clean driving abstract
  • ROC-A radio license would be an asset
  • “D” BBTCA AVOP license would be an asset
  • Fuel Farm training would be an asset
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances and successfully complete company screening process
  • Work shifts including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to make decisions and meet deadlines while handling multiple responsibilities
  • Applicant will be required to successfully complete mandatory training programs (TDG, FHT, WHMIS, Smith’s driver training, and all other training programs)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work in a fast paced and stressful environment
  • Able to work well in a team oriented environment
