Our Modis brand, within The Adecco Group, is hiring a Business Capture Manager. Reporting into the Director of the Proposal and Corporate Knowledge Centre (PCKC) in Ottawa, this role is responsible for promoting business growth by leading the capture management and business development activities. We are looking for a resourceful team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment. At Modis, we don’t tick boxes – we think outside them.
This role will lead special projects and support the pursuit of multi-million-dollar business opportunities by writing business references and corporate content. The successful candidate will manage the reference repository and corporate literature, as well as creating and maintaining corporate content for bid submissions and reviewing proposal submissions for quality, compliance and consistency. What you’ll be doing
- Implementing and managing processes for capture of corporate information and updates as necessary
- Reviewing and assisting with writing, establishing, and improving PCKC processes and procedures
- Contributing to and participating in Bid/No-bid decisions, and providing advice from a corporate qualification’s perspective as necessary
- Performing proposal writing/management as needed in times of increased demand
- Providing expertise and guidance on contractual vehicles for Business Development Managers and partners, while offering support in:

- Responses to client inquiries
- Development of questions and corresponding strategies for RFP responses
- Development of Client Attestation documents
- Responding to inquiries from all branches on corporate capability
- Establishing and maintaining effective business relationships at various levels within the customer community, industry subject matter experts, potential partners and key senior consultants
- Analyzing Government of Canada client/industry demand and reporting issues and possible solutions regarding the IT/IM Skills Gap of “where we are” in relation to the industry
- Participating on various projects throughout the year in conjunction with the PCKC Director, Ottawa
- Reviewing and assisting with ATIP requests
- Supporting Business Development Managers in the preparation of Price Substantiation documents, as needed
- Assisting management in adherence to corporate communications
- Participating in required PCKC reporting, as needed
- May act as back-up in providing management support in the Director’s absence, including not limited to: providing advice, guidance, coaching, etc.
About you
We want to set you up for success! To help us do that, here is what we are looking for from you:
- Post-Secondary Education (college or university) combined with proposal management, writing/editing experience, or considerable experience within a similar role/industry
- Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of experience with solicitation responses requiring capability within the professional services sector, staffing industry and/or IT Sector
- Knowledge of Federal/Provincial Government or other Procurement processes is required
- Proficient, at a senior level, with Microsoft Office suite of tools including Word, Excel, Visio, Teams, Outlook and MS Project
- Prior experience working with proposal management software or information management systems, and setting up workflow processes to capture content in real time
- Proven experience working with senior level consultants, clients and Partners within the IT sector
- Experience an asset in: technical writing, freelance writing or editing, technical recruiting for RFP’s, account management with an RFP component
- Demonstrated capability to interpret:

- RFP related concepts - effectively researching and adapting corporate content in response to requirements to ensure compliance, integrity and quality
- RFP requirements - identify potential road-blocks or challenges and effectively guide stakeholders to effective solution
- Practical experience in project management and process improvement
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing
- Team player attitude and willingness to give and take direction, while demonstrating a collaborative spirit to give and receive feedback
- Strong organizational skills and ability to perform various tasks simultaneously, prioritizing multiple time-sensitive tasks/projects
- Works well under pressure and able to maintain professionalism and calm demeanour under stress
- Ability to coordinate and adjust work timelines to accommodate various schedules and avoid bottleneck situations, negotiating deadlines as needed
- Builds strong working relationships externally with candidates and internally with managers and colleagues
- Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs
- Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset

What you’ll be doing
