About the role
Position: QA Technician
Location: Fraserwood
Schedule: 4:30 am – 1:00 pm
The primary function of the Quality Assurance (QA) Technician at Fine Choice Foods is to ensure that all our delicious food products meet our high levels of safety, quality, and regulatory standards before they reach consumers. They accomplish this mission by working as part of a dedicated team providing front-line support to the operation through routine inspection and monitoring compliance with CFIA, HACCP, and SQF requirements.

Summ! Responsibilities:
- Perform critical control point checks and quality checks on process as outlined in the HACCP and Quality Program requirements.
- Provide required support to and work directly with Operations team members with objectives of meeting food safety and quality requirements while maintaining efficiency.
- Communicate with other departmental supervisors in a cooperative manner to meet food safety and quality compliance.
- Conducts raw materials/packaging inspection; collects samples and performs various tests including sensory and checks ensuring food safety and food quality of product.
- Assist in implementation of SQF policies, HACCP, and prerequisite programs
- Participate in internal auditing and investigation process for corrective and preventative actions.
- Compile records and evaluate results, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards.
- Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new procedures accordingly.
- Maintain calibration of quality control equipment.
- Perform other duties as directed from time to time.
Summ! Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology or Food Science, or a combination of educational background and relevant experience working in a food manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work under pressure while being a dependable team player.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. etc.
- Proven ability to effectively manage priorities with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, with or without direct supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (additional languages are an asset).
This full-time permanent career opportunity is based at our Fraserwood Way facility and offers a starting wage of $22.45/hr. in addition to an attractive benefits package including Company paid Extended Health & Dental, RRSP Matching and more.
