Salary Range

$58,304.00 annually (with wage increments to a max of $65,630.00 annually). Salary and wage increments are in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

WHAT IT TAKES

  • A Degree in Sport Science or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary educational institution and one or two years of lab experience in a sport or activity-based area.
  • In-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of fitness assessment and prescription.
  • Good working knowledge of course content, operation and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and apparatus, and modern techniques pertaining to the instruction of science courses.
  • Some knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), html programming as well as common sport, fitness, analytical software/databases.
  • Good working knowledge of the English language (written and verbal).
  • A demonstrated ability to:
    • instruct students and public clients professionally and effectively.
    • communicate courteously and effectively in person, in writing, and over the telephone with students, faculty, administrators, staff and the public.
    • work in a team environment as well as work independently with minimum direct supervision to establish priorities and achieve deadlines.
    • follow and adhere to College and Department policies and procedures and maintain confidential records.
    • take initiative, organize, schedule and prioritize.
    • supervise student assistants.

Additional Information

  • This full-time (35 hours per week) is available starting August 25, 2025.

  • Regular hours of work are to be determined based on operational needs between 7:30 am – 9:30 pm from Monday to Friday.

  • Shift days and times may change depending on the Department’s need.

  • Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required.

  • The successful candidate must be able to work at either of the two campuses, in New Westminster and Coquitlam.
