Qualifications
This role demands an influential and highly credible leader with extensive and varied executive management experience in complex multi-stakeholder environments. You bring strengths in leading complex programs, operations and public policy development in a large organization with the ability to influence innovative outcomes. Your background includes fiscal management and the negotiation of significant, complex agreements, and you are recognized for promoting a partnering culture and working effectively with stakeholders on initiatives in dynamic environments. Your ability to empower teams and capacity for facilitating change will support your success. An understanding of health system issues and priorities in Alberta and other jurisdictions is an asset, and a related degree is preferred.
Role
Reporting to the Associate Deputy Minister, you will lead the planning and enhancement of the quality and delivery of Pharmaceutical and Supplementary Benefits services across the province. This position requires a blend of strategic and operational leadership to oversee the delivery of health benefits programs and pharmaceutical policies and strategies. With a focus on program evaluation and renewal, you will lead a diverse and complex portfolio that includes: management and payment of physician, pharmacist, and allied health professional service; pharmacy and supplemental health benefits; administration of the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan; Aids to Daily Living and Dental and Optical Assistance for Seniors programs; and oversight of blood programs and policy oversight of diagnostic imaging and laboratory services. Developing agreements with the Pharmacists’ Association of Alberta, and other allied health organizations is a key accountability. Your excellent communication and influential skills will lend to strong networks and relationships with complex stakeholders and partners. You have experience leading strong teams accountable for program delivery and you demonstrate an understanding of government and department priorities.
Salary
$6,403.39 to $8,403.71 bi-weekly. ($167,128 - $219,336 / annually)
