Applications are invited for the position of Recruitment Associate (Seasonal) in the Student Recruitment Division, located at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus and Welland Campus. The starting hourly rate is $26.77/hr (Pay Band D - $26.77/hr to $31.01/hr) for a 35-hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary. This is a temporary 4-month Initiatives/Opportunities position as per Article 17.3.1 of the Support Staff Collective Agreement and is set to conclude in December 2025.

Reporting to the Manager, Recruitment Production and Activations, the Recruitment Associate (Seasonal) will play a key role in generating awareness and interest in Niagara College among prospective students and their influencers. This role supports a wide range of recruitment and engagement initiatives, including activations, high school visits and on-campus activities.

The successful candidate will also assist with the setup and tear down of various events on and off campus and be a vital part of delivering engaging, student-focused experiences that align with Niagara College’s recruitment goals.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for prospective students at community and high school events, effectively communicating Niagara College’s brand and offerings
  • Generate and qualify leads through in-person and online outreach
  • Schedule and conduct fairs, presentations, and interactive sessions with prospective students and partners
  • Enter contact and interest details into the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system from prospective students
  • Build awareness and strengthen relationships with prospective students, parents, guidance and employment counselors, and teachers
  • Represent Niagara College at key recruitment events including conferences, tradeshows, and sporting events
  • Collaborate with internal departments and contribute within a cross-functional team
  • Travel locally and provincially, including trips up to one week in duration

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a two-year diploma in Business, Communications, Social Sciences, Humanities, Education, or similar field of study
  • A credential from Niagara College and/or strong knowledge of the Ontario college system is considered an asset
  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is an asset
  • Previous experience in sales, marketing, or front-line recruitment roles is preferred
  • Knowledge of secondary and post-secondary school systems is an asset
  • Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for some evenings and weekends
  • Valid G-class driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Must be at least 21 years of age for insurance purposes (college provides a rental or college vehicle for authorized travel and covers related expenses)
  • Access to personal transportation is considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

This position is open to internal employees and external applicants. External applicants will not be reviewed until all eligible internal employees have been considered. The first consideration for internal employees shall be five (5) business days from the opening date (July 9-15). Internal employees are those classified as full-time permanent within the Full-Time Support Staff bargaining unit, regular part-time (RPT) employees who have completed probation, and Appendix D employees with six consecutive months of Appendix D service with the College at the time of posting.
