The Blueprint

The Service Technician is accountable for fulfilling work orders and service calls, collaborating with customers, Property Management, and trades. This role involves general troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs, encompassing tasks such as drywall repair, minor fixture and millwork repair, painting, caulking, minor flooring, grouting, and minor plumbing.

A Glimpse into Your Daily Activities

  • Complete assigned work orders and service calls in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Interact with customers to understand and address their service needs and concerns.
  • Collaborate with Property Management and various trades to coordinate and execute service-related tasks.
  • Conduct general troubleshooting and diagnosis of issues related to residential construction, including identifying problems in areas such as drywall, fixtures, millwork, painting, caulking, flooring, grouting, and minor plumbing.
  • Perform repairs based on the diagnosed issues, including but not limited to drywall repair, minor fixture and millwork repair, painting, caulking, minor flooring work, grouting, and minor plumbing repairs.
  • Apply effective hands-on solutions to resolve construction-related problems efficiently.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively as a member of a larger service technician team.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of work completed, including documentation of repairs and any additional information relevant to the service provided.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a secure work environment.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement in service delivery and efficiency.
  • Conduct Homeowner Orientations (Pre-Delivery Inspections) as necessary.
  • Perform inventory suite inspections and communicate with Team Lead and C3 for completion updates.
  • Place material orders when required.
  • Contribute to and engage in social media/web promotion activities for the company.
  • Provide assistance and support for other job functions as needed.
  • Address escalations and homeowner concerns through a higher level of investigative work.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

The Architect of Your Success

  • Relevant post-secondary education and/or previous industry experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in completing work orders, service calls, and inspections.
  • Familiarity with construction practices and Tarion guidelines is an asset.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities, excelling in providing practical hands-on solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and performing repairs.
  • Previous experience in customer service, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Strong organizational skills and can stay focused on multiple ongoing tasks while using your available resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong customer-focused oral and written communication skills and experience with cross-departmental communication
  • Strong team player who is open minded, resourceful, flexible, and adaptable to change
  • Must have a personal vehicle and a valid Driver’s License.
