Platform Engineering has three strategic areas of focus : OpenText Cloud Platform (OCP), our multi-tenant Platform as a Service offering that provides the foundation for all of our next generation Public Cloud SaaS offerings,OpenText Developer Cloud that provides access to all OpenText Information Management capabilities as Services (APIs) to enable our customers and partners to leverage these in building industry vertical propositions, andBusiness Process Automation capabilities for our customers.

This position is based in the OpenText office in Richmond Hill, Canada.

What the role offers:
As a Manager, Software Development, you will:

  • Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers distributed across time zones, providing technical guidance, training, and fostering professional growth.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure, including virtual networks, storage, compute resources, and enforce compliance and security standards.
  • Drive successful project delivery by managing timelines, resources, and aligning technical solutions with stakeholder requirements.
  • Experience doing employee performance management, including evaluations, goal setting and career planning.
  • Drive engineering productivity through process improvements, tooling investments, and operational excellence
  • Implement performance monitoring systems and lead troubleshooting efforts to maintain application stability and security.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of incidents and introduce preventative strategies to ensure continuous operational reliability.

What you need to Succeed:

  • Proven experience designing and managing cloud solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP with strong knowledge of cloud architecture, scalability, and DR.
  • Proficiency with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation and container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Collaboration experience with multiple disciplines, i.e. architecture, product management, customer support and the leadership team.
  • Strong experience with agile development methodologies and modern software development practices
  • Champion adoption of modern development practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and infrastructure as code.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices; strong technical aptitude for distributed systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect) are preferred.
  • Experience with commercial API delivery, API management tools like Apigee,
  • Proficiency with AI integrations preferred.
